Akua Lee

Akua has been in the interior design business for over 20 years, owning a business that designed both rooms and furniture. If the name sounds familiar, perhaps you recognize her from her work on the pilot of HGTV’s “Rehab Addicts”, or one of her many features in St. Paul Magazine, Lavender, Women’s Ventures to name a  few.

Akua’s lifelong hobby turned into a profession when she graduated from the Art Institute in 2001, having studied interior design. She combined the talents from her degree with experience in remodeling and building furniture. The result was one of the Twin Cities’ top designers. Her motto when it comes to designing a room is, “If I can’t find it, I’ll build it!”

Akua describes her style as “whatever her client’s style is”- highlighting her adaptability and her devotion to seeing out her client’s vision. Don’t worry though, if you have trouble articulating that vision, Akua can tease out ideas and use her special knowledge of color theory, spatial balance, and more, to make your dream room into a reality. Akua also believes in living well in your home. Among her successes she has had five homes featured in the Parade Of Homes Showcase.

When she’s not out making homes beautiful, Akua likes to spend time with her two children, learning to fly planes, horseback riding, renovating furniture and homes.
