A Look Into a Designer's Home

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

Deanna Kallin, resident interior designer at Rosenthal Interiors has granted us access to her home living space to show you the design elements you can begin tieing into your own. With this sneak peek you can see how all design elements contribute to the overall feel of her space - from wallcoverings, to accents everything has a purpose.

The whole room has a focus on comfort and contemporary. Selections first began with her living room sectional, and then built around this for every facet. Some items were from her previous living space, others were heirloom items. But, all of it was blended seamlessly to create something Kallin loved to come home to every day.

We connected with Kallin to see what she has been up to with extra time in her home. Here’s what she had to say.

Words from the designer

“Quarantine! What an awful word. In all honesty though, I have been enjoying my time at home. I can’t remember the last time I had some real time off. So often time off is full of obligations and time tables to accomplish all that needs to be done, even when it is true vacation! This has forced me to enjoy some true quiet time, reflect on what is important and get some much needed rest. While I am still working with my clients remotely, I have been tackling some home projects I’ve been meaning to get done, a deep clean I was desperately in need of and getting my meal planning routine back on track! I spent some time freshening up my spaces by taking all of my decorations down and redecorating with them. It’s one of my favorite things to do when I am bored with my space. It gives everything a fresh new look, just by moving them around. Of course it also showed me that I need a few new things! I am not an online shopper when it comes to my home. I generally need to be able to see the quality of what I am buying, so it will have to wait. It’s something to look forward to when the quarantine is lifted! I am dedicating a lot of time to updating my jewelry website and making new jewelry pieces. I find so much peace when I am in a creative space whether I am doing home or jewelry design. It helps me stay focused and positive. It will leave me well rested and ready to jump back in to projects with my clients as soon as we are able!”
